Pours pitch black with a small tan head and slight lacing, aroma is a nice a blend of coffee, nuts, cocoa and molasses. This beer has a huge roasted coffee presence which is very pleasant, it has that charred quality to it that we've come to expect in a fine Russian imperial stout. It definitely has that "I'm smoking a cigar and drinking a coffee taste" which I know sounds strange to some but if you like this style you will enjoy. The coffee taste is authentic, maybe because it was added after the fact and there are many other flavors coming through. Vanilla, mocha, and oatmeal just to name a few. The sweetness level of this beer is near perfect, just enough to accent that beautiful coffee flavor but it never tries to take center stage. You can taste a little booze at the end but just a enough to let you know you drinking a big boy's brew. RATING 8.9 out of 10.
FLAVOR PROFILE : A huge but very nice coffee flavor upfront. Also a big charred quality and a near perfect sweetness level.
