Pours with a larger than normal head for this style. Aroma isn't real big, slight coffee, a bit of smoky oak and molasses in the nose but what this beer lacks in aroma it makes up for in the taste. The first thing that comes through is the oak/bourbon flavor but it's not to strong like some other brews. Secondly you get a big charred coffee taste followed by some chocolate and a bit of licorice also. Lastly this brew ends with a bit of warming booze that you would expect from a beer with an ABV of 10%. A nice stout and a great value.
